If you play capoeira or you're just interested in seeing something new, come by the Terreiro de Arte e Cultura at 105c W. Corporation st. in downtown Durham, NC for the event. If you get there early enough, you might even learn to do some of this:

hi-- i'm a random visitor trying to find out more about the batizado next saturday. i heard about it through facebook and i think i get the basic gist of a batizado, but is the final event on saturday a public event? i'm a capoeira admirer and would love to attend if so... also, do you know there where, when, etc? thanks for your help! and since i feel crazy asking all these questions without an intro, my name is erin :)

the event is open to the public, and there are workshops during the week (from wed-sat). the academy is located at 105c w. corporation st. in downtown durham. its kind of hard to find, but its near the bull city headquarters and the skate shop on mangum. i think the webpage should have all the information you'd need to check out the event. hope to see you there!
